Initiatives/ Conferences

The Thuringian Coordination Office TNA is in charge of evaluating initiatives and conferences.

By implementing initiatives transnational and interregional actions can be prepared. These actions aim at establishing concrete partnerships or cooperation which did not exist before.

Conferences are in particular road shows, exchanges of experiences, meetings, seminars, workshops, and symposia. They aim at establishing and developing transnational and interregional cooperation. Furthermore, they need to refer to at least one Eligible Action of Priority Axis E.

Applicants are asked to submit their application for initiatives and conferences not later than four weeks before their intended start. The formless written funding request should be comprised of the following aspects:

  • clear description of the project (topic, contents, objective, reference to the EU)
  • intended budget, especially the following costs:
    - traveling within Europe and overnight accomodation of European   partners in Thuringia
    - events, staff, materials; please also see the leaflet attached to the "Handbuch TNA"
  • definition of cooperation region(s) and information about already existing contacts to this region/ these regions
  • definition of Eligible Action
  • statement that no further applications for funding are/ will be submitted to other bodies

On basis of the submitted funding request the Thuringian Coordination Office TNA prepares a so-called vote. This way, the project’s eligibility is examined (accordance with interests of the Free State of Thuringia; accordance with objectives of the ESF Operational Program).

The vote is sent to the applicant as well as to the GFAW - Gesellschaft für Arbeits- und Wirtschaftsförderung, ESF intermediate body in Thuringia.
In case of a positive vote the applicant is enabled to apply for funding at the GFAW (unit 1.4).

Mobility Proposals

Mobility proposals are to be submitted to the Thuringian Coordination Office TNA.

Stays abroad carried out by Thuringian employees and entrepreneurs need to focus on:

  • participation in specific workshops
  • recruitment of skilled employees

In principle such stays abroad should not exceed two weeks. Up to 80 % of eligible expenditure can be funded by means of ESF.

Before mobility proposals can be submitted, applicants are obliged to consult one of the Thuringian European Service Offices
