Project Description
The project aimed at development of a novel concept of intelligent electric vehicles (IEV) in regional context of application scenarios and characteristic properties in Thuringia and the partner region Picardy. To improve sustainability of individual mobility, the project had in particular the following objectives: •Optimization of range / energy consumption depending on operational and traffic scenarios using intelligent control strategies. • Increase of customer confidence and customer satisfaction by way of more effective measures to estimate the residual mileage. • Enhanced driving safety through the use of networked and sensed electric vehicles at controlled, semi-autonomous and autonomous driving. This had taking into account technical / technological background as well as economic aspects and available infrastructure. The concept was implemented as a demonstrator and then validated and verified. The demonstrator combined novel components such as sensor fusion, mobile networking (on and off-board) and new control algorithms for calculating the operating distance of the IEV.
